In the 1950s and 1970s, Don gained international acclaim for racing Corvettes in regional races as well as prestigious endurance contests including 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Founded in 1972 by Corvette race car driver, builder and team sponsor Don Yenko along with champion driver Donna Mae Mims, the Steel Town Corvette Club has grown to over 200 members in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Over 50 club events are held throughout the year which include car cruises, day trips, car shows, rallies, and weekend getaways. We also sponsor a club picnic and an awards banquet each year. See our monthly newsletter or like us on Facebook page for up to date information.
We have organized several trips to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. We have also traveled as a group to Carlisle PA, Annapolis MD and Lancaster OH. These are in addition to weekend trips to interesting locations, and many other special events.
The annual Steel Town Corvette All-Chevy Show is held each summer and hosted by the nation's oldest family owned Chevrolet dealer, Colussy Chevrolet. The participant-judged show is open to all Chevrolet vehicles including trucks. It has run for over 40 years and is second to none!
