FIRST CORVETTE RESURFACED DURING CORVETTES AT CARLISLE 2025

1953 Assembly Line

Long before the Corvette became synonymous with thunderous V8s, Le Mans trophies and driveway prestige, it arrived as an ambitious experiment. The very first example, known as Engineering Car 3950, resurfaced at Corvettes at Carlisle in 2025 , a reminder that America’s sports car legacy began with more trial than triumph.

CORVETTE E-RAY (Dan Neil's opinion)

Across the Spectrum of Corvette Experiences, the E-Ray Feels Just Right

From the Wall Street Journal

"The E-Ray is the least taxing, most refined and versatile model among Corvette’s available powertrains and offers a lot of bang for a lot of bucks."

Dan NeilA blue 2024 Corvette E-Ray 3LZ coupe drives on a mountain road.

Fresh from a facelift, the E-Ray features a mid-mounted 6.2-liter V8 (495 hp) driving the rear wheels and a potent e-motor (160 hp/125-lb-ft) up front.

Now is the winter of my discontent. Stupid winter.

A silver-metallic Corvette E-Ray has been sitting in front of my house for days, bored out of its mind, icy slush gathering in its side-mounted intercoolers.

Freshly facelifted for 2026, the E-Ray is the only street-friendly Corvette with all-wheel drive. In addition to the 6.2-liter V8 mounted amidships, a 160-hp electric motor between the front wheels provides cooperative AWD. System net: a roaring, righteous 655 hp.

sneak peak from motor trend? Chevrolet says no!

National Corvette Museum Delivery

MIKE AND CHERIE, BOTH STCC MEMBERS, RECENTLY PURCHASED A WHITE 2025 CORVETTE AND OPTED FOR THE MUSEUM DELIVERY. HERE ARE THEIR IMPRESSIONS!

At the end of July 2024, my wife and I made an exciting decision—to order a new Corvette Stingray with delivery at the National Corvette Museum (NCM) in Bowling Green, KY. Given the strong relationship STCC has with Colussy Chevrolet, they were the natural choice to handle our order and delivery requirements. I specifically requested sales associate Tom Priano to guide me through the process. My 2025 Corvette Stingray was preliminarily ordered on August 2, 2024, and Colussy’s allocation was confirmed right away. Tom assured me that the allocation came through quickly, with no issues or constraints, allowing for a fast production timeline.

By August 20, my order moved from preliminary to “locked down,” and was officially accepted by GM production control on August 23. While I had anticipated a lengthy delay—Corvette assembly often takes months—my build had no constraints, unlike the high-wing Z06 models that faced delays.

Production for 2025 Stingrays began on September 9, 2024. On September 10, Colussy informed me that my tentative production week was set for September 23. However, assembly started earlier than expected, beginning on Friday, September 20, and was completed by Monday, September 23. A Corvette takes two days to build—longer than typical GM vehicles—due to the meticulous craftsmanship involved.

Once off the assembly line, my Stingray went through testing, stripe application, and the installation of the rear spoiler and front splitter. At this point, my Corvette was transported “across the street” to the NCM for dealer-installed options and predelivery inspection. The Museum’s team reached out to coordinate the R8C delivery process. Initially, we scheduled delivery for October 12, 2024, but postponed to October 19 so that my daughter and her husband could fully participate in the experience.

The VIP Museum Delivery Experience

From the moment we arrived, the NCM staff treated us like celebrities. A personalized R8C Museum Delivery itinerary was provided in advance, ensuring a seamless experience. Our dedicated NCM host greeted us upon arrival and remained with us throughout the day.

The delivery sequence included:

Arrival at the NCM Delivery Office

Completion of delivery paperwork

Hands-on Corvette orientation

Placement of the Museum Delivery Decal on the driver-side doorjamb

Family and car photographs

NCM host driving my Corvette out of the Museum with me in the passenger seat

My first drive to the “Corvettes Only” parking spot

Guided tour of the NCM with our Museum host

A complimentary one-year NCM membership for the R8C delivery family

Lunch at the Stingray Grill

Laminations provided for window stickers, build sheets, and option content sheets

As part of the experience, we were issued VIP R8C Museum Delivery badges. A particularly special moment occurred in the Corvette Store—Ray Theriault, Director of GM Bowling Green Assembly (Corvette), approached us to introduce himself and personally congratulate us on our new 2025 Corvette Stingray.

The entire journey—from ordering to delivery—was a dream come true. The National Corvette Museum provided an unforgettable experience, ensuring that every detail was handled with care and enthusiasm. Owning a Corvette is special, but receiving it through the R8C program elevates it to a whole new level.
